While it's dumb to edit a textarea to close the tree, it's worse that the rules for doing this are in a comment that you must keep intact. Somebody can just come in and blow it away, then it's lost forever. It's also easy to accidentally make "The tree is OPEN" happen. And that's silly. README (with todos).
